Alter of Mercy
Lord, once again I enter your presence,
Unto the Alter of Mercy I go.
This body that I'm carrying,
It needs your healing so.
Lord many times I've entered your presence
Many times you've met me there.
My granddaughter I carried before you
Into the Alter of Mercy I came.
You granted the miracle that was needed,
And in her eyes I see the miracle of creation
All over again.
I carried a man and a father,
Into the Alter of Mercy I went.
And each time I entered your presence
And I laid these bodies down,
Each time the prayer was answered,
Or the grace was sufficient for the need.
Lord a baby fell with a head injury,
And I saw your angels bearing the body up.
Lord, I took this body to the Alter of Mercy,
And the same angel hands brought her back.
Lord, once again I enter your presence.
